Hi‘ipoi Lindsey is 12 years old and lives in Kane‘ohe.
Her musical influences come from both sides of her family, including great-great grandmother Genoa Keawe.
The steel guitar is the first instrument that she has learned to play.
She has been taking steel guitar lessons for almost a year and joins Enosa Lyman and NextGen alumnus Mālie Lyman as a NextGen steel guitarist.
She also enjoys reading, cooking, and hopes to learn to sing.
Alan Akaka was chosen as her kumu because Hi‘ipoi's father was Alan Akaka's student at Kamehameha Schools over 25 years ago.
