Kilipaki Vaughan

Kilipaki is from Manoa/Waimanalo, Oahu. Paki lives on Beautiful Kaua‘i in Kilauea with the loves of his life, Mehana, Piko, Pi‘ina‘e, and Ana. In November 2002, Paki had his first steel guitar lesson at Harry's Music with Jerry Byrd. After moving to Kaua‘i, Paki was fortunate to resume steel guitar under Alan Akaka in November 2009, with further study under a Hawaii State Foundation Culture & Arts Fellowship. Paki has also steeled under Ed Punua. Paki plays C13 and B11 Tunings with Waipa Serenaders - David Sproat (Lead Ukulele & Vocals), Jen Waipa (Vocals), and Nelson Armitage (Bass). Mahalo nui to Kumu Alan Akaka for reviving steel guitar here on Kauai.

Kilipaki Vaughan is a multi-year veteran of the Kaua‘i Fire Department.In November, 2016. Paki was named the department's Deputy Fire Chief. He now serves as Fire Captain for the department.
