Mele Apana

Radio and TV personality Mele Apana has been in the entertainment industry for over 30 years. She is a Kaua'i native, born into the re-known Apana family from Kapa'a. She is one of Hawaii's most revered emcees, hosting and producing sold out concerts throughout Hawaii and the continental U.S.

After graduating from the Kamehameha Schools, Mele became a radio star on Oahu, dominating #1 radio shows world-wide. Some of the stations she championed included KCCNFM100, HAWAIIAN105 KINE, POWER 104.3, and ISLAND 98.5. She was also the entertainment reporter for KHNL and KGMB "Hawaii News Now" with her radio partner Billy V.

Every year, Mele hosts a plethora of events with thousands of people in attendance and some of her favorites include the Aloha week festivals, Prince Kuhio celebrations, Kamehameha day parade, Iolani palace festivities, Waimea Valley concert series, Kamehameha Schools events, Na Hoku Hanohano awards, and the Pro-bowl Ho'olaulea.

Currently she is teaching music at Nainoa Thompson's Malama Honua charter school in Waimanalo, working on a music project for Queen Liliuokalani children's center, meanwhile getting ready for her 10th annual Mothers Day concert at the Sheraton Waikiki with Kapena, Keali'i Reichel, Natalie Ai Kamau'u, Kaumakaiwa Kanakaole, Kekuhi Kanakaole, Sean Na'auao, Robi Kahakalau, Jeff Rasumussen, Kumu Hula Chinky Mahoe and Kawaili'ula.
